السلام عليكم
What about giving du'as to someone on his birthday? Not for imiting the Kuffar bust just to have a landmark and to remember the other the bounty of Allah on him and to remember him that so many years are gone, did you use them to prepare the aakhirat...

I ask that because I've read that celebtrating birthday is a pagan habit, they were thinking that on someone's birthday evil spirits are coming to him so to get them far away they were surrounding him, making noise, giving him good wishes... And if someone give him a gift it was a good sign.

Please detail your answer with proofs.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful
The answer to your question is as hereunder:

The bounty of Allah is showering on us each moment and we have to thank Allah for His uncountable bounties on us as much as we can.
It is not allowed to fix a date or time to remember Allah’s bounty on someone, because we don’t know if our actions were acceptable in the sight of Allah.
Thus, to celebrate one’s birthday, to believe in it, or exchanging gifts on this occasion etc. all are against the laws of Shariah. So, one is obliged to shun these actions.
And Allah knows best
