Hujjatul Islam Academy

Islam as a comprehensive religion is a reliable set of ideals and realities covering the entire area of human notion and actions, beliefs and practices, thoughts, words, and deeds.

Ever since the caravan of intellect and insight started its journey in the light of Quran and Sunnah, the spacious world of knowledge, discernment, excellence and perfection came into view. In early days of Islam the world knew a group of men recognized “The Companions”(Sahabah). To give the testimony of the character of the pious companions Allah certified them saying “Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Allah”.

After this brightera in every period of history great scholars like Abu Hamid al-Ghazali, Shaikh al-Ishraq, Ibne Hazm, Muhiuddin Ibn Arabi, Jalalauddin Rumi, Shaikh Saadi, Razi, Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam Shafiee, Imam Ahmad Bin Hambal and the inheritors of their intellectual legacy Shaikh al-Islam IbneTaimiya, Ibn Qayyim, Shaikh Ahmad Sarhindi known as Mujaddid Alf Saani, Musnad al-Hind Shah Wali Allah Muhaddith of Delhi and many other personalities emerged.

In the 13th century AH amid the challenges Hujjatal-Islam Imam Muhammad Qasim Al-Nanawtawi (R.A.) came to the world.

Though Imam Al-Nanawtawi was last to come but he was not the least. Through his talent and extra ordinary endeavors, Imam Al-Nanawtawi portrayed the picture of great men of every era in his persona.

Who is not aware of Imam Al-Nanawtawi’s revolutionary efforts in terms of founding Darul Uloom Deoband and his great services to Islam in the subcontinent! Indeed everyone in the subcontinent is grateful and obliged to him.

There was a dire need to revise the legacy and ideas of Imam Muhammad QasimAl-Nanawtawiand introduce his personality and achievements to the world of intellectuals and learned. This so great and important taskwas due on Darul Uloom Deoband, Qasmi community and everyone connected to Deoband. Alas! It was not done yet.

The literary works were carried out by Hakim al-Islam Maulana Qari Muhammad Tayyib(A.R.)the ex-Rector of Darul Uloom Deoband during his administration with the aim of introducing Darul Uloom Deoband and the legacy of Imam Al-Nanawtawi; these are the services of a single person.

It was an obligation upon the succeeding administration of Darul Uloom Deoband to establish a department for research and academic activities keeping in center the “Qasmi Sciences” (Ulum al Qasmi).

Whatever Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband is doing, while having no resources, is the mere help of Allah the Almighty.
By the virtue of the great beneficence and bounty of Allah Almighty, Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband is rendering its educational services up to the graduation level in Islamic religious sciences, tajwid and Qirat (phonetics of the Holy Quran), Ifta (Jurisprudence) and other post-graduate courses. Well trained lecturers and professors are working hard to enhance the students’ skills. All the staff members and departments are active and doing their best to fulfill their particular duties.

Necessary construction is in progress. Implementing the useful schemesfor uplifting the academic standard is always the first preference of the administration.

The foundation of the Hujjatal-Islam Academy is a useful addition amongst the various educational departments of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.
