Sir I have serious doubt regarding choice of sacrificial animal during eid-ul-adha.

In my country cow is sacred to majority of my country men and it is not permissible to slaughter cow by rule of my country but many people secretly sacrifice cow during eid-ul-adha, despite having the option of sacrificing other animals like goat sheep camel etc

Is it permissible for a muslim person to sacrifice a cow when they can avail and afford other options, considering on the obedience to the law of land and hurting the sentiments of our country men please help me out as eid-ul-adha is nearing.. please reply as quickly as possible.

Thank you..may allah s.w.t keep you in good health.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful

The answer to your question is as follows:

It is duty of every citizen to abide by the rules of the country as strictly as possible. So they should avoid slaughtering cows whilst other options are available. When other animals can be slaughtered in Qurbani, slaughtering cow and consequently poisoning the country environment is against Islamic norms and etiquettes.

And Allah knows best
