I did not know how divorce works so I contacted a Molana for divorce. So I could do it in the right procedure. I was angry and wanted to do the divorce. when we sat down for the divorce the molana did not explain anything to me about the procedure or how it works he just told me that it is the most sinful halal and asked me if I want to do the divorce and I said yes he then told me to repeat after him 3 times in Arabic that I give divorce which I did. We have reconciled and would like to go back to eachother as we have an ill child also. The molana said we cannot as I had said the words 3 times however I did not intend for a irrevocable Talaq and I swear I only intended 1. I told the molana that I did what he said thinking that it was the right procedure. Does this count as 1 divorce or 3?

In the name of Allah the most gracious the most Merciful

The answer to your question is as follows:

You have repeated the words of divorce three times, hence, accoring to the Hanafi Fiqh, all the 3 talaqs occurred and the Nikah is unknotted. You should have contacted a reliable Alim for the same.

And Allah knows best
