I have a question about the crucifixion - would it be deception and lying if Allah had;

1- replaced Jesus peace be upon him with someone else
2- allowed the Jews and Romans to believe Jesus had to be crucified

The answer to your question is as follows:

In the Holy Qur'an, Allah Almighty has clearly stated that the Jews plotted secretly and Allah Almighty also plotted and Allah Almighty is the best of plotters. The Jews wanted to kill Jesus and came to kill him. But they were deluded by resemblance and Jesus was lifted to the heaven alive. They killed that person instead of Jesus; the secret of which was later revealed to them. there is no deception and lies in it.

It is a common thing to take measures on the occasion of war and battle and it is also a requisite of human nature.
