As Salaamo alaikum.I am an electrician by profession. We take contract of electrical wiring. When we get an order from the client,we prepare a list of electrical items required for the particular work. The client brings all the items.Sometimes, the client pays us and ask us to buy all the items and show the bill.We buy all the items and show the bill to the  client. The shopkeeper gives us 2-5% commision on the whole bill of the items bought. If we take the client to the shop with us to buy the items, then too the shopkeeper gives us commission of same % on the whole bill. The bill prepared is totally genuine. The shopkeeper gives us commission as we are electricians and we regularly buy items from his shop. Is this commission halal for us

The answer to your question is as follows:

If you have already made an agreement with a shopkeeper that the customer who goes to the shop in your name or with your slip, the shopkeeper will have to pay 5% commission on his total bill without any extra charge to the customer. Now, if the shopkeeper gives the goods to the customer at the market price, and the shopkeeper does not increase the price due to the workman, then it is permissible to take a specified commission from the shopkeeper. You go with the customer or send him alone to the specified shop, in both cases you are entitled to receive your commission.
