Departments



1. Ihtimam (Office of the Vice Chancellor)

This is very active and central department of the university which supervises all the departments (20 approximately), takes necessary steps on applications and reports of the departments, implements the proposals Majlise-Talimi (Academic Committee) as it communicates with the outside world and takes necessary action if required. It is headed by the Muhtamim of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.


2. Ta'limaat (Faculty of Education)

Talimat is a very important department of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband and it is responsible of all educational activities. All the academic activities like Arabic classes, Tajweed & Qira’at, Tahfeezul Qur’an, Primary classes, Takmeele Adab Arabic, TakmeeleIfta and Khushkhati (Calligraphy) etcwork under the supervision of this very department (Talimat).
The Faculty of Education, along with the supervision of the above-mentioned departments, deals with all the academic and educational affairs of the university.


3. Muhaasibi (Accountancy)

This department looks in to all accounts of income and expenditure. The department undertakes to check all the bills, pays them and deals with the banks. It prepares the yearly budget of Darul Uloom Waqf Deobandand tries to limit it within boundaries. No amount of money is taken without giving a receipt and no money is given without a voucher. Lecturers and workers of the university receive their monthly salary from this Office of Muhasibi.


4. Darul-Iqama (Hostel)

This department manages the student hostels, allots them seats, issues railway concessions, identitycards for students and deals with their affairs. Beside the head of the department, more three teachers of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband manage the hostel system.


5. Muhafiz Khanah (Record House)

 This department is meantto treasure all the historical records of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband. This department is responsible to protect and codify every record of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband. It prints the registers, receipts and other necessary articles and provides them to the concerned departments.


6. Ta'meeraat (Construction)

This department aims at constructing new buildings, repairing old ones and decorating. The master piece of modern Islamic architect and construction “Atyabul Masajid” is under construction.


7. Barqiyaat (Electricity)

The department of electricity arranges power supply to the offices, mosques, classrooms, passages and hostels.


8. Tanzim-o-Taraqqi (Management & Development)

This may be called public relation office. This department is meant to collect donations and grains for Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband. Presently, the department has 30 Safeers (donation collectors) and 2 public relations officers.

9. Awqaaf (Endowments)

 This department has been set up to protect the Waqf (endowed) and owned property of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.


10. MehmaanKhanah (Guest House)

The guest house looks after the respected visitors and arranges lodge and food for them. The guests included foreign diplomats, government officers, media persons, authorities of madaris and intellectuals etc.


11. Matbakh (Kitchen)

This department is set up to prepare food for students. There are 12 employees in this department to prepare food and provide necessary articles and maintains records of students getting food from kitchen.


12. Hujjatul Islam Academy

There was a dire need to revise the legacy and ideas of Imam Muhammad Qasim Al-Nanawtawi and introduce his personality and achievements to the world of intellectuals and learned.
It was an obligation upon the succeeding administration of Darul Uloom Deoband to establish a department for research and academic activities keeping in center the “Qasmi Sciences” (UloomeQasmia).
The foundation of the Hujjat al-Islam Academy is a useful addition amongst the various educational departments of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.


13. KutubKhanah (Library)

Since Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband is an educational and academic institute, therefore, it pays special attention to collect books. Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband appealed to the Muslims to extend help in books collection. Answering the appeal some gifted books to Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband while many others provided fund for purchasing books. So it is a grand library which came in to being. Now, by the grace of Allah people are offering generous help in this regard. The institute is very grateful to them for their valuable support. Jazahum Allahu Khairal Jazaae.
The library has a collection of over 20 thousand books which include variety of syllabus, and non-syllabus books.
The library provides opportunity to the teachers and students of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband to benefit in daytime and after Maghrib and Isha prayers till 11:00 PM.
It is also notable that with the advancement of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband the existing books in library are insufficient due to increasing number of students.


14. Darul-Ifta (Department to Issue Fatwa)

This is a very significant department of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband from which people all across the world question in their religious and social matters. Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband has been issuing fatawa from its inception. Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband appointed a group of Mufties for this department. Darul-Ifta has always been center of attraction and held great respect and trust in public and court circles.


15. Internet Department

There is no iota of doubt that Internet is one of the most sought after things in today's world. The Internet department uploaded the introduction of Darul Uloom waqf Deoband, its mission, movement and activities, and many useful books and articles for the visitors.
Not only that but the website www.dud.edu.in provides online question and answer service where people across the world can post their questions and get satisfactory answers by great Mufties of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband. All the Mufties are the lecturers at Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.


16. Computer Training

Similarly, Computer is one of the most eminent things that science has ever produced. No doubt that it is a prime need of the time to equip the graduates of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband with modern tools. Darul Uloom Waqf Deobandhasset up a computer lab for training. This department was established in the year 1434 H (2013).
10 graduates of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband are given admission in this department every educational year.


17. Nida-e-DarulUloom (Monthly Urdu Magazine)

To spread the message of Islam and true version of religion among people, Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband introduced monthly magazine “Nidae Darul Uloom Waqf”. It appears every month regularly. The administration pays extra attention to upgrade the magazine.
The magazine is typed on computer. Every month it appears with new attracting design and cover. It consists of many ethical and research orientated articles and magnificent editorial on burning topics be it Islamic, social or political subject.


18. Safaai wa Chamanbandi (Cleanliness & Garden Maintenance)

Cleanliness is a part of faith and greatly stressed in Islam. Therefore, Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband has established this department to pay full attention in this regard. The department maintains and takes care of the gardens, roads, toilets, water supply etc.


19. Wahdatul Ummah (The Bi-annual Arabic Refereed Journal)

The bi-annual Arabic journal "Wahdat-ul Ummah" is a refereed journal. A refereed journal is a particular type of scholarly journal in which each article is judged or refereed by “the board of experts” in the field.
Hujjatul Islam Academy of Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband, taking a progressive step in the field of research, has decided to publish this Arabic Journal to provide publishing platform for the skilled writers and researchers. Their refereed materials and research will be reviewed by “the board of experts” prior to the publication.
The “the board of experts” or “the editorial board” consists of more than 16 high profile Doctors and expert reviewers within India and abroad.
