In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful
The answer to your question is as follows:
The games, which are helpful in physical well being and do not involve something that is Haram, are permissible, such as swimming, shooting, horse-riding. The games that are meant only for wasting time are demoted in Islam. And the games which include something haram or known as the games of disbelievers and criminals are forbidden in Shariah. In Fatawa of Mufti Mahmood sb it is mentioned that playing tash or ludu is very bad and if it is played with betting between the players then it is gambling which is Haram. It is duty of a muslim to refrain from Haram objects. The holy Quran says: and who keep themselves away from vain things (Surah Muminoon 23/3).
