Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatahu.
According to local culture of my region, before nikah we send proposal followed by engagement and then we proceed for nikah. Accordingly, my parents sent proposal of my marriage to the parents of my cousin sister and alhamdulilah they accepted the proposal.
The girl is studying outside and we're continously talking especially since they accepted the proposal. Her parents want her to marry after she'll finish her degree. May I know what's ruling for us as I and she are talking over phone and we don't want to fall into the trap of satan. Is it allowed for us to talk? If no, what shall we do to continue our talks and without hurting the sentiments of our parents as well.

Jazak'Allah khair.

In the name of Allah the most Gracious the most Merciful

The answer to your question is as follows:

Before marriage the fiancée is a stranger, it is not permissible for you to talk to her. Meanwhile, you can also give your suggestion to her parents that the marriage should take place now and sending her as bride to the husband’s home will be after completing her studies. So in such a case it will be permissible for you to talk to her just after marriage.

And Allah knows best
