Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband


An outstanding Islamic orator Maulana Muhammad Aslam Qasmi, is now the head of the Faculty of Education at Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband.

Early Life and Education
Maulana Muhammad Aslam Qasmi S/o Hakimul Islam Maulana Muhammad Tayyib Qasmi was born on 03/06/1938 at Deoband.

His academic career began with the Holy Quran. He learnt the Holy Quran under instruction of Qari Kamil. Then he joined Farsi classes where he spent four years in Farsi, thereafter he continued his Arabic Classes and completed his Fazilat course in 1957CE.

His teachers were: Maulana Basheer, Maulana Zaheer, Maulana Naseer Ahmad Khan, Maulana Abdul Ahad, Maulana Naeem Ahmad and his elder brother Maulana Muhammad Salim Qasmi.
He got Hadith permission from Maulana Sayyid Husain Ahmad Madani and Maulana Fakhruddin.

After graduation from Darul Uloom Deoband, he received modern education too and passed his matric examination from Aligarh Muslim University.

In 1969 he was appointed in Darul Uloom Deoband. He rendered his services in different departments.

After the renowned dispute in 1982, when Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband was established he started his teaching career and taught very important books as Mushkat, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi. He is was teaching Bukhari-I to the students for many years.

After the demise of Maulana Anzar Shah Kashmiri, he was appointed as Sadrul Mudarriseen (Head of teachers) and Nazime Majlise Talimi (Head of Academic Council).

Literary Works
Once he was much interested in Seerah (Biography of the Prophet Muhammad (saws). He wrote Majmua Seerat e Rasool, Wiladat Nashw o Numa, Ashabe Kahf etc. 

He translated and modified Seerate Halabiyyah which contains 6 volumes.

Death

Maulana Muhammad Aslam Qasmi, after a long sickness, passed away from this mortal world on 13 November 2017 AD / 23 Safar 1439H. The funeral prayer was held in the campus of Darul Uloom Deoband, where hundreds of thousands Muslims attended his funeral. His nephew Maulana Mohammad Sufyan Qasmi (Mohtamim Darul Uloom Waqf Deoband) led the funeral prayer. (May Allah bless him and may his soul rest in the Gardens of Eden) Aameen.
